Yi Chen was born in Qingdao, China, a humid city by the sea. Yi is currently enrolled in the Parsons MFA Fine Art Program. Through the depiction of her own relationships in her works, she conveys political views, attempting to promote the legalization of same-sex marriage in China. The images are often delicate and exquisite, hoping to infuse the audience with the atmosphere of the work to change the viewers’ perspectives about same-sex love. Yi uses mixed media in most of her works, to enrich the layers and increase the visual depth of the images, so as to express the touching and delicate feelings within same-sex relationships.

“From my art works, I’ll show you my heart and my everything.”
